Privacy & data stewardship

Professional information deserves careful treatment.

This notice explains how Mitchell Sandery, operating Sandery, handles personal information provided through this website, during founding-client enquiries and, where agreed, in delivering Career Bank and related services.

Effective 16 September 2026

1. The governing principle

Sandery is built around the individual. You retain your rights in the personal information and material you provide. Sandery processes that information for the purposes described in this notice and any applicable service terms. Career Banks are not published as public profiles or used for unrelated advertising.

2. Information Sandery may collect

This may include contact, account and authentication details; enquiry information; professional documents, uploads and career information you choose to provide; structured or inferred professional information developed through the service; outputs, correspondence, corrections, feedback and service records; and limited technical, usage and security information generated when you use the website or relevant services.

Career information may be extensive and professionally sensitive. You should provide only information you are entitled to share and that is relevant to the service.

3. Why the information is used

Sandery may use personal information to respond to enquiries; assess whether a founding-client engagement may be suitable; agree and provide services; develop professional materials; maintain a Career Bank; maintain accuracy and security; administer the client relationship; improve its services; comply with legal obligations; and establish or defend legal rights.

Where this forms part of an agreed service, Sandery may also use professional information to identify relevant opportunities, assess potential fit and support professional introductions.

4. Legal bases

The applicable legal basis depends on the purpose. Sandery relies on steps taken at your request before an engagement and performance of an agreed service; legal obligations where applicable; and legitimate interests in operating, protecting and improving its services, communicating with users and establishing or defending legal rights, where those interests are not overridden by individual rights.

Opportunity identification, fit assessment or introductions are undertaken only where supported by the applicable service terms and a lawful basis. Sandery relies on consent where consent is specifically requested; consent can then be withdrawn for future processing.

5. Human judgment

Sandery may use technology to assist with organising and analysing information. It does not make solely automated decisions about individuals that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Professional outputs are developed through human review and remain subject to your correction and approval.

6. Service providers, professional counterparties and transfers

Sandery may use carefully selected providers for website and application hosting, authentication, email, document handling, AI or model services, communications and professional support. They may process information only for the relevant service and subject to appropriate contractual or legal protections.

The Career Bank is not an open recruiter database. Where opportunity or introduction services apply, identifiable information may be shared with prospective employers, clients or other professional counterparties under the applicable service terms and controls.

Where personal information is transferred outside the European Economic Area, Sandery will use an applicable legal mechanism or safeguard. You may contact Sandery for further information about the safeguard used.

7. Retention

Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, the client relationship, applicable professional and legal requirements, and the establishment or defence of claims. Retention periods therefore depend on the nature of the information and the engagement. Information that is no longer required is deleted or anonymised where reasonably practicable.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection to particular processing. You may also withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Requests can be made at hello@sandery.co. Sandery may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

You may lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority in the country where you live or work. In the Netherlands, this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

9. Website analytics and cookies

The website does not currently use advertising cookies or behavioural advertising. Hosting and security infrastructure may process limited technical information required to deliver and protect the site. If optional analytics or cookies are introduced, Sandery will provide appropriate information and controls.

10. Contact

Questions, concerns and data-rights requests can be sent to hello@sandery.co.
